SO excited!!!
Tomorrow we leave for our annual Orlando trip and I cannot wait!! I am so excited to do Disney again with Matthew and to see his reaction to it now that he is a little older. Last year he liked Seaworld better and I wonder if it will be different this year. Mostly, I am so excited just to get away to some warmer weather and relaxation. But, above all else, I am so excited to not be lugging Luke INSIDE my belly this year but instead be pushing him in the stroller!!!:)

It Won't Be Like This For Long
By Darius Rucker
The song I have running I know will annoy some people. I've hesitated to add songs to the blog because I think sometimes it is hard to read while music is playing. But, I HAD to add this song, at least for now.
There isn't another song out there that could come closer to summing up my life right now than this one (of course you'll need to change all the she/her to he/him). It talks about how fast kids grow up and lately it seems mine are growing faster and faster each day. I try to take the time to enjoy the phases they are in...good or bad. I remind myself on a daily basis not to wish the boys' childhood away...even after a long night of little sleep and lots of crying with a teething Luke, I remind myself to sit in the moment and enjoy being his everything. We all know that won't last.
The lines in this song that speak the loudest to me, though, are the ones about dropping off his daughter at preschool and having her cry. We all know that Matthew (still) has good drop offs and bad ones and like the song says..."some day you'll drop her off and she won't even know you're gone"....as much as it breaks my heart to hear his pitiful cries, I know this will be true of Matthew sooner than later as well and that hurts even more.
So, sorry to be all sappy and sentimental but I really wanted to share this song with my Mommy Friends and everyone else out there that I know will be able to relate...

Great Weekend!
We went up to Maine this weekend, no reason other than to get away. It is the half way point between Christmas and our trip to Florida so we figured it would give us something to look forward to...not to mention the place we stayed in had a pool and being away would force us to go out to eat! Jeff and I were anxious to take Luke swimming for the first time. He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the water. As suspected, our little fish could have stayed in the pool all day. His brother? Not so much...he is the extreme opposite. But, he was happy to play on the steps of the pool and stack all the noodles up. He has made a little progress since last summer though. We are thankful we are able to do this kind of stuff with the boys and I absolutely cannot wait for FL, more swimming and NO SNOW!
Luke wearing Daddy's hat
Matthew not in the water as usual but working hard to stack the noodles up
Luke's first time swimming...looks a little doubtful here but believe me, he was in heaven!
A couple of goofballs ready for bed
This next picture was taken yesterday. I was getting ready to make dinner which is also Matthew's tv time of the day, when he asked me if I thought Luke would like to watch something with him. So sweet! As I was cooking I could hear Matthew telling Luke about the show. I can only hope that these guys will continue to be buddies:) The extra bonus was that even though Luke lasted less than 10 minutes...it was 10 less minutes of cooking while entertaining/holding I had to do:)

Happy Birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Boys and I love you and think you're the best. Thanks for being more than we could have ever asked for or imagined having. We hope you have an awesome day...it's not every birthday you get to eat off of Optimus Prime plates picked out especially for Daddy by his little Transformers fan.

6 Months!!
Luke is officially 6 months old today. I can't believe how fast time has gone by! Sometimes it feels like we just had him yesterday and sometimes it feels that he has been here forever. I was truly amazed by how Luke just fit right into our family from his very first breath on. Luke is the best!! I love watching him interact with his brother and I'm not sure there is a happier baby out there. His laughter is the best sound in the world and the I'm enjoying watching him grow and change. Luke has brought a completeness to my life and I thank God for him every moment of everyday.

We didn't think Luke's half birthday would be complete without a whole mess of shots so lucky for him, he also got to go to the doctor for his check-up this afternoon! Haha. Not a fan of the shots but was given a clean bill of health and for those of you wondering how he measures up, here are the stats...he weighs in at 16 lbs 15 ozs (29th percentile) and is 27.5" (76th percentile). He is sitting up on his own and loving putting anything he can get his hands on into his mouth and is eating everything but peas and beans. No teeth yet but judging by the bucket loads of drool, they're coming!
Here's to another healthy and happy 6 months!!!:)
