Zoo Pictures

Our First Big Adventure...

With TWO Kids!!

Back at the beginning of the summer (pre Luke) we decided we wanted to go to the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence. We went a few years ago and Matthew really loved it. Since I didn't want to walk around a zoo 9 months prego we figured we would wait until after the baby...thought it would be a nice get away.

In the days leading up to our departure on Saturday I couldn't help but wonder what I had gotten us into! Did we really think we could take a 2 hour drive, visit a zoo, eat out and stay overnight in a hotel with a 2 and a half week old?? We must be crazy??!! But, since Matthew had been looking forward to it all summer we didn't change our plans.

So we got up bright and early Saturday morning to head out...2 hours later we were in the car and ready to go!! Figured with a turn around time like that we were doomed but I was pleasantly surprised! Luke slept the whole way in the car. Woke up when we got there, ate and slept through the entire zoo in the stroller. Matthew had a blast at the zoo. We headed to the hotel in the mid afternoon, both boys napped then we went out to eat and even had time for a swim before bed. This morning we had breakfast at the hotel, went for another swim and came home (not a peep out of Luke the whole way).

I'm glad I didn't change our plans. It was a great first trip for this family of four:)

Blueberry Picking & Lounging

For some reason Matthew has been anxiously awaiting blueberry picking season...not sure why this is but he's been talking about it forever!! Funny how they get things in their heads! Anyways, after being rained out twice this week, we finally got a chance to go this morning...just Matthew and I. Was nice to have a chance to spend some quality alone time with him (thanks Heather for watching Luke). He had a great time and the picking was awesome. We also got a chance to see the goats and bring home some of Emery Farm's YUMMY cookies.

I'm also posting this picture of Luke...maybe it's the sleep deprivation but I think it's hilarious. He LOVES to sleep on the changing pad...seems to be his favorite place. Works out great for me since it's so transportable...here he is lounging on the deck while big brother is swimming. If only it were acceptable for me to be doing this! Check out his arms...always has them over his head like this when he's asleep. I know I'm a little biased but I think this kid is pretty darn funny and super cute:)

Grammy & Grampa's

Since Jeff was off today we figured it was the perfect day for a trek up to Laconia to see Aunt Jamie and Renee's new house and take a dip at Grammy & Grampa's beach on Lake Opechee. Luke rode great in the car and Matthew had a blast in the lake. Here are some pics...

Happy 1st Anniversary to Ryan and Jenn!! Can't believe it's been a year already:) We still have such fun memories from your wedding (except having to make a speech...only for you 2 knuckleheads would I stand up in front of that many people). We love you guys:) Enjoy your day!

Introducing Luke

Here he is! Luke Couser Corriveau was born Tuesday July 8, 2008 at 8:01am. For those of you who are wondering...Couser (pronounced cow zer) is my Mom's maiden name. I'm hoping to put a slide show together and post it as soon as I can...in the meantime, enjoy this one...

The Big Day...

In a little over 12 hours The Corriveaus will be a family of 4! Hard to imagine. We will be leaving here around 4:45am (ouch!) to get to the hospital for 5:30am, the c-section is scheduled for 7:30 and with any luck we'll be holding our new baby soon there after:)

Will post the info and pictures as soon as possible.

Wish us luck:)

Lazy weekend...

We didn't have the most exciting 4th of July weekend ever due to obvious reasons. We just otok it easy but we did get a lot done in preparation for the baby and since the weather was so nice we were able to spend a bunch of time outside. Here are a few pics from today...

This is my idea of the perfect summer night...grilling, swimming and eating outside. Too bad this pool isn't a million times bigger and inground!

Matthew has the best blue eyes! I wonder if the baby will too????

Watermelon

Most of you are probably thinking that this picture of a watermelon is in celebration of The Fourth...you know the cook out staple...

Well you'd be wrong!

I'm posting this picture so everyone can see how my belly is looking these days...like a BIG, HUGE watermelon!!!!!

My doctor has indicated that the baby will be the size of a BIG, HUGE watermelon!!

Oh well...only 3 more days then we'll find out for sure.

3 Days!! I can't believe it. I'm excited and nervous at the same time...not nervous at all for the c-section or having a newborn. There may be something wrong with this but I'm just nervous for Matthew....how he's going to do when I'm in the hospital and then when we get home. Will he adapt ok? Things like that.

Guess we're going to find out soon! Wish us luck:)
